Easter. Park. Beach. The fun life of Jonah Welte.

I sometimes feel guilty as a mom if I don't entertain Jonah 24/7.  I admit some days I am tired!  Some days I need to clean the house and some days I want to do nothing at all.  When you have as active of a son as I have, you have very little time to relax as you are constantly coming up with more ways to keep him busy and out of trouble.

As I write this and upload pictures, I am not feeling as guilty anymore.  Jonah really does get entertained - and I do a good job.  He is constantly playing, running and exploring.  So next time I need a break and pop in a video, I vow to not feel guilty :).

Dyeing eggs!  Jonah was not into it, just wanted to throw them.

Picasso.  This is what happens when you don't watch Jonah.  And no, it was not a washable marker!

Chilling in the cul-de-sac with his bestie Sam.

Jonah and the whale.

Throwing rocks in Del Mar.  This is the beach right by where Brody and I got married.  It was neat to take Jonah there.

Yum, sandwich....Jonah's new favorite lunch food.

Flying a kite with Dad.

Jonah didn't like it when the kite was in the air...he got very mad unless it was on the ground.

Doggy Paradise

Spring has arrived at Fiesta Island - the dogs favorite park.  They frolicked in the grass, ran down the cliffs and chased the ball in the waves.  ohh a dog's life.

Bubble Machine = Genius!

So this Mom is quite happy with the inventors of the Bubble Machine.  My lungs were getting tired of huffing and puffing for hours to get those bubbles out!  Jonah asks for bubbles every 10 minutes, so you can imagine.

Today, I sat back in my lawn chair, sipped my iced tea and enjoyed watching the machine do all the work.

spring has sprung - sort of.

Spring has arrived.  Well, I guess that's up for vote.  If you ask you east coasters, it's more like summer.  Here in So Cal, Spring has been flirting, but I don't think it has quite settled.  We have had some chilly days in the mid 50s and some more milder weather in the mid 60s.  I am ready for the mid 70s.  Regardless if there is a chill in the air or not, my son is outside.

He loves playing outside.  Mainly he likes coloring with sidewalk chalk, riding his car and playing with the neighbor girls across the street.  We had a rainy weekend this past week and it was torture for both of us.  I didn't know what to do with him!!  He doesn't do well cooped up inside.  Arts and Crafts really aren't his fortay.  He gets bored with movies.  He stares out the window.  Luckily the sun has been out the last couple of days and I was ready to sit in my lawn chair and bask in the sun while Jonah ran circles around me.

Playing t-ball. He's actually pretty good, when he holds the bat correctly...

He finally is starting to wear his helmet!!!  Usually for about 5 minutes before he takes it off.

Jonah's besties, the neighbor girls.

Jonah and the Whale.

Taking the pups for a walk.

And finally, his new favorite snack....seaweed.  WHAT?

Happy Spring!

Happy Friday

From the handsomest boy in San Diego.

I am two.

Meet two year old Jonah.

He's not afraid to get into trouble.  And he does quite often. Maybe he'll be a chef?

He is a momma's boy and I wouldn't have it any other way.

He loves his Dad, especially when he gets home from work.  Jonah greets him at the window....Daddy's here!!

He likes to brush his teeth, but only if he does it.  Which probably means only one or two teeth actually gets clean.

He got a tricycle for his birthday, but he refuses to wear the helmet so he doesn't get to ride it.

He picks out what clothes he wears every day.  He usually demands a "cars shirt" (Lightening McQueen).  We own about six because God forbid I don't have a clean one.

He is still a really bad eater.  He requests chocolate, watermelon and milk - that's about it.  He does down a slice of NY style cheese pizza pretty fast.

He LOVES books.  Requests at least 10 a night at bedtime.  "one more" "one more" then cheers "yayyyyy" when I say "ok, one more" (which ends up being about five more because I am a complete sucker.)

He has a new pet fish named, Bill.  Picked the name out all by himself.  He feeds Bill every morning and asks "Where's Bill?" throughout the day.

He is very hot - tempered, but very sweet too.  He loves his dogs.  He loves walks in the stroller.  He loves to play outside with the "girls" (our neighbors across the street.)  He is obsessed with cars, trucks and trains.  He likes to color pictures (and throw his crayons all over the house).  He likes to run around the house yelling "hey, get back here" about random household items.

He challenges me everyday.  He loves me and I love him.

Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet boy!

good morning.

We don't always wake up bright eyed.

It usually takes a dose of chocolate milk, mickey mouse and a new diaper before we are presentable.

A quick brush of the hair doesn't hurt either.

After we have woken up, a walk down to get an Acai bowl with granola, blueberries and strawberries are just what we need to start the day right.

Happy Monday!
