January beach day.

I know it's freezing in most parts of the country.
I don't get any pleasure out of posting these (maybe a little) but I will warn you - they will make you jealous.  Super jealous.
It was a mere perfect day.  The Goldilocks of days - not too hot, not too cold.
PERFECTION.

What does one do on such a picturesque day in San Diego?

California dreaming.

It's a new year.

2014.
Wow, I can't believe it.  Another year has passed.  Another year.
May marks ten years since I graduated from college.  TEN years.  TEN!!!

I am getting old.
Next week I turn 31.
I know to most, that's very young.  But 31 is officially into my thirties.  MY THIRTIES!

I guess I am having a moment where I want to be 15 again and just studying for my next algebra test instead of paying bills, figuring out health insurance and being a responsible adult.
In the words of Geoffry the Toys RUs giraffe - I DON'T WANT TO GROW UP!

Oh well, it  happened, I am a grown up.  Luckily for 3 days I got to feel like a kid again.  We went to Disneyland and spend 3 amazing days with family.  Jonah and Asher had an absolute blast with their cousins.  They played so well together.  It was so fun to see them happily playing and I know it was such a special treat for my mom to have all of her grandchildren together.

While Disneyland with 5 kids under the age of 5 may seem crazy to most, and at times it was, it was definetly worth feeling bone tired at the end of the day to make such fun memories with everyone.

Napkins make the best capes.  Eating out was a challenge with all the kids (mainly Asher and Jack), but we made it out alive with no broken dishes.

Mimi with all her grand babies!

Captain Hook wasn't as popular as the princess so the line to see him was zero!

Breakfast with the Disney characters was a real treat.  The food was awesome and the one and one attention with pluto was priceless!

Goofy's kitchen

Cars Land was Jonah's favorite!  Lightening McQueen still holds his heart.

Loved seeing mom and the Agnews!

Getting in the spirit.

It's been a really fun month with the boys.
We've decorated our house for the holidays.
Made Thank You Christmas Cards for the troops overseas.
Sang chrismas carols.
Watched Christmas movies.
Drank hot chocolate.
Made lots and lots of sugar cookies.
Ate lots and lots of sugar cookies.
Decorated a gingerbread house.
Donated toys to chartiy.
Brought our neighbors yummy homeade treats.
Made ornaments.
Sent out Christmas cards.
Learned about why we celebrate the season.
Drove around and looked at Christmas lights.
Performed in the PreSchool play.

I think we are ready for the jolly man.
And we are ready to give thanks for Jesus.

Merry Christmas from The Welte's!

Growing up.

Time sure does go by fast.
It's already the end of 2013.
My baby Jonah is going to be 4 in just 3 months.  FOUR!
Asher is no longer considered a "baby" and is transitioning into a little person.
I graduated college almost 10 years ago.  TEN!
Brody and I have been married for 8 years at the end of the month.  EIGHT!
Life does indeed move fast.
I heard recently that you shouldn't long for the past or wish for the future, but enjoy every season of your life fully.
I am enjoying this season very much, I just wish it would slow down a little.

Here's to my growing boys and their mom who is having a hard time letting go.

Twinkling lights.

Christmas came early at the Weltes.
Well, my tacky lights came early.

The snowman shakes cause he is freezing.  What?  It was like 65 degrees today, that's cold!

We aren't the Griswolds, but we are pretty fun.

I heart sunsets.

Time changes can be difficult when you have children.
Without them that extra hour of sleep is welcomed and enjoyed.
When you have babies, they don't quite understand the snooze button and their usual early wake up call comes painfully before the sun does.

However, I have seen the silver lining in the early mornings.
Early  mornings mean shorter days.
Shorter days mean I can take my family down to the beach before dinner and watch God's sun set under the blanket of the pacific.

I now love time changes.

Cheers to good health!

November 3rd - 6th marked the one year anniverary of when Asher was hospitalized for a staph infection.  I still thank God everyday that he was OK and we got to take him home after just 3 days.

To celebrate our health and God's mercies, we went to the zoo!  We love animals, so it was fitting for this family, who may fit in a little too well at the zoo.

Asher loved walking around.  He's currently obsessed with birds, so he enjoyed the aviaries a lot!

Rare blonde koloa sighting.

My sweet Ash at just a week old in the hospital.  One year later he is a spunky toddler.

It is easy to take your health for granted.
We are so happy that we are all healthy and thriving.
Cheers to many more healthy years ahead.
