Score!

My soccer stud at his first practice/game.
I use the word "game" lightly as it is basically a toddler free for all.
Jonah did manage to score a goal :)
He also managed to cry.
He managed to run the wrong way on the field.
He managed to hit his nose.
He managed to fall about 50 times.
He managed to wear his cleats and soccer jersey for five days straight after Saturday.
And he managed to have fun.
Bend it like Jonah?

J&A Circus.

Raising boys can sometimes feel like you are in a circus.
Today, was no exception.
Silly, silly, silly.

Because we can.

Happy Hump Day from the beach, Cali love.

our lake vacation.

Who hooo we are on vacation!

We recently got back from a week long trip to Michigan to visit with Brody's family.  It was a really great week, not just because all the Welte's were together, but because it was beautiful on Lake Huron.  We all stayed in Oscoda, MI, which is right on Lake Huron.  Being an Outer Banks girl, I have never had a "Lake" vacation so I didn't really know what to expect.

It really is just like a beach.  Lots of sand and clear beautiful water, but without waves, jellyfish or sharks!  Score one for the Lake!

Jonah had so much fun meeting and playing with all his cousins.  The last time we were in MI, I was just pregnant with Jonah so he hasn't met almost all of them.  It was a very special week and we had so much fun spending time together.

Brody with his brothers Dean and Dirk and nephew Brendan at the beach.

Michigan black squirrel - very cool!  Beautiful Lake Huron and Paul Bunyan - yes we are in MI now!

Jonah with his cousin Wynn.  They are only 4 months apart - his closest aged cousin on the Welte side.  They had a blast playing together

Jonah's first time at putt-putt.  He actually did great!  Way better than I did!

Uncle Love.

Great-Granny B. It was so nice to see her!

Jonah playing on the Lake.  It was so beautiful!

Part of the Welte clan.

Red, White & Blue.

We had a great 4th of July this year.  It was Jonah's first time staying up for fireworks.  We went to our old workplace and where we got married, Santaluz for their Summer Celebration.  Jonah had a blast on all the jumpies and we had fun catching up with old friends.

Picnic dinner.

Who doesn't love a firetruck ride.  (I did until about the 4th ride....)

Jonah was not a fan of the fireworks, which I kind of figured, but he was huge fan of the glowsticks. So much so that he slept with him that night.

Happy Birthday America.

Swim Lessons

Swim Lessons have proven to be a huge hit! Jonah practically runs to the car when I tell him it's time for his lesson.  He is so well behaved too. He listens to the teacher and does everything she asks. He is the only kid in his class who hasn't cried yet.

I have signed him up for 2 more weeks of lessons.
I told him swimming is a nice safe sport that I will gladly allow him to participate in.

Picture of Summer.

Summer is officially here in San Diego.

We have enjoyed hanging out at home and laying low.  My mom just finished a visit and we had a really nice time spending our days with Mimi.  It's always so nice when my mom can spend time with her grandkids and because it's not too often, I think it's extra special.

Here are a few pics.  Most are of Ash as I just can't seem to get Jonah to stand still long enough to snap his picture.

Almost 8 months old. He crawling now, but only with his hands, he just kind of scoots his butt around. He still move pretty fast though!

The man of many moods.  It's a constant guessing game of who you will get these days.  Happy Jonah, Sweet Jonah, Funny Jonah, Silly Jonah, Frustrated Jonah, Tired Jonah, Mad Jonah, Jealous Jonah....the list goes on.  Life is hard when you are 3.

My walking buddies every morning.  We are quite the wide load, but everyone enjoys our morning walks around the neighborhood.

Maybe Jonah will be a photographer?  He took this great picture of Asher!

Lots of days at the park lately.  Jonah loves to play and Asher loves to eat grass :/.

Wagon rides down the street - our new favorite pasttime.

Asher plays peek-a-boo with himself and the curtains.

Mimi's bday cake.  100% Gluten Free and 100% delicious!

Happy Bday Mimi!  It was a great visit!
